RESPONSIBILITY TO THE
ENVIRONMENT

OPERATION CERTIFICATIONS

Our goal is to achieve the implementation and certification of an Environmental Management system based on the ISO 14001 standard, which will determine the effectiveness of our environmental performance in the key areas of commitment, capabilities, risk control, and successful management in the different areas of the Project.

In addition to this management system, we will implement the following standards and certifications:

CARBON FOOTPRINT

This indicator will allow us to measure the total amount of Greenhouse Gases (GHG) generated by the Project. Thus, Fenix Gold aims to progressively implement initiatives that improve energy autonomy based on renewable energies and identify activities with the potential to reduce the carbon footprint.

We are interested in participating in national programs that promote the use of tools that allow GHG quantification, such as the “Huella Chile” program. This grants recognition to companies based on good practices in carbon footprint management.

INTERNATIONAL CYANIDE CODE

The “International Cyanide Management Code for the Manufacture, Transport, and Use of Cyanide in Gold Production” (Cyanide Code) is a voluntary certification program aiming to improve the management of cyanide used in the mining of gold and silver, in addition to enhancing the protection of human health and reducing the environmental impacts of emissions or accidental exposures to the chemical.

WATER FOOTPRINT

It is an indicator that will allow measuring the total volume of freshwater used in the development of mining operations. Along the same lines, Fenix Gold aims to maintain efficient water management from the conceptual engineering of the project to its useful life.

It is in our interest to participate in national programs that encourage the use of this tool associated with the measurement of the water footprint, as is the case of the “Clean Production Agreement - Blue Certificate.” The program aims to voluntarily increase the effective measurement of the quantity and quality of water. Additionally, water efficiency practices are promoted along the production chain, and gradual compliance is reflected in certificates of recognition of good practices.
